Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) is the organization responsible for operating the metro rail system in the city of Chennai, India. It was incorporated in 2007 as a joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of Tamil Nadu. CMRL aims to provide a safe, reliable, and efficient mode of public transportation in Chennai. The metro network currently has two operational lines, with several more under construction and planned for the future.
